Operation Uplift Foundation and Sigma Mu Mu Chapter Host 13th Annual Toy Drive
On December 7, 2024, Sigma Mu Mu Chapter, Third District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., supported Operation Uplift Foundation’s holiday toy drive; the Foundation is the charitable arm of Sigma Mu Mu. The event was held at the Dulles Crossing Walmart Supercenter in Sterling, Virginia and benefited from a remarkable outpouring of generosity from the community. In collaboration with Walmart, more than 200 toys and 18 bicycles were collected and distributed to underprivileged children throughout Loudoun County. The toys and bikes were donated to the Helping Others Holiday Coalition, an organization dedicated to ensuring that needy children experience the joy of the holiday season.
This year’s toy drive was a resounding success due to the hard work of the chapter’s dedicated volunteers and the overwhelming support of community partners. Together, they demonstrated the true spirit of giving, bringing smiles to the faces of children who might otherwise go without gifts during the holiday season. “We are incredibly grateful to our volunteers, sponsors, and all those who contributed to this important cause,” said Leroy Ross, Co-Chair of Sigma Mu Mu’s Civic Outreach Committee. “This toy drive is a testament to the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together to support those in need.”
The Omega men comprising the Foundation and chapter membership remain committed to their mission of service and community engagement, and look forward to continuing their efforts to uplift families in Loudoun County in the years to come.
