Operation Uplift Foundation and Sigma Mu Mu Chapter Support Holiday Toy Drives

On December 6, 2025, the brothers of Sigma Mu Mu Chapter, Third District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. supported Operation Uplift Foundation’s annual Santa's Workshop Toy Drive by collecting 200 toys and 10 bikes for donation on behalf of the Foundation; Operation Uplift Foundation is the charitable arm of Sigma Mu Mu that donated the items for distribution to needy children in Loudoun County by community partners, including The Link's, Mobile Hope, and Help For Others Holiday Coalition. This year’s toy drive was held at the Dulles Crossing Walmart Supercenter in Sterling, Virginia, and was a huge success due to the hard work of the chapter’s dedicated volunteers and the overwhelming support of community partners. Together, they demonstrated the true spirit of giving, bringing smiles to the faces of children who might otherwise go without gifts during the holiday season.

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Department coordinated the collective effort of community partners whose support ranged from Chick-Fil-A providing chicken nuggets to toy drive volunteers, Walmart hosting the event, and aforementioned others distributing toys to disadvantaged families. Lieutenant Bob Boyer of Loudoun County Fire and Rescue expressed his gratitude and amazement at Sigma Mu Mu’s ability to collect the large number of items in a few short hours. He wants to continue the partnership with Operation Uplift Foundation and looks forward to working together next year.  Similarly, Walmart was pleased with the event and expressed a desire to collaborate on future Santa’s Workshop events.

Sigma Mu Mu’s holiday generosity did not end with support of Operation Uplift’s toy drive.  On 13 December the chapter supported the MLK Diversity-Engagement Santa's Workshop.  The event was held at the Douglass Community Center in Leesburg, VA where more than 300 registered needy children received a toy of their choosing; participated in interactive activities; enjoyed snacks with Santa and Ms. Claus; and had fun in bumper cars and a moon bounce. Sigma Mu Mu donated thirty-five (35) STEM-related toys for the festive occasion and played with excited kids while parents enjoyed coffee, snacks, and a break during which they selected gifts to take home. A great time was had by all at this holiday event, making it a magical afternoon that put everyone in a festive mood.
