Sigma Mu Mu Chapter Donates 300 Toiletries to Loudoun Homeless Services Center
On 15 November 2025, Sigma Mu Mu Chapter, Third District of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., executed its "Omega Global Day of Service" plan by donating 300 toiletry items to the Loudoun Homeless Services Center. Omega’s Global Day of Service is an annual day when all chapters of the Fraternity perform social action projects in their local communities. Ironically, this year’s Global Day of Service coincided with the first day of Loudoun County’s Hypothermia Prevention Shelter, making the donation very timely and impactful. The Loudoun Homeless Services Center coordinator, Ms. Linda Kimble, thanked Sigma Mu Mu and commented, “the supplies you collected and shared with us were much needed and right on time for the first night of our hypothermia shelter. You all allowed us to make sure all had what they needed to shower and relax in the shelter.” The Hypothermia Prevention Shelter is for single adults 18 years of age and older who are experiencing homelessness. It provides a warm indoor sleeping space, meals, and bathroom/shower facilities each day from November 15, 2025 through March 31, 2026. The Loudoun Homeless Services Center works in cooperation with the Hypothermia Prevention Shelter to ensure guests have a safe and secure environment where they can rest and obtain information about other resources that are available to them.
Sigma Mu Mu’s effort was led by Brother Leroy Ross who coordinated toiletry collection and presented the items to the Loudoun Homeless Services Center on behalf of the chapter. Sigma Mu Mu’s commitment to uplifting those in need is reflected by the generous donation, and the chapter looks forward to supporting Loudoun’s Homeless Services Center in the future.
